Work Study Pay Grade Guidelines

Most student employees paid through work study earn between minimum wage and $20 per hour.  It is the responsibility of the hiring supervisor to pay students fairly for their work based upon their skill level and responsibilities.  Students on Work Study have a limit to how much they earn from that fund.  Students who exceed the amount awarded from work study will have their contract rolled onto the departmental work-tag provided in the job requisition.

If the position is paid from research or departmental funds, the department may determine the wage rate as long as it is equal or greater than minimum wage.
