Scholarship Extension
Please complete the form below to provide additional details regarding your request. Scholarship extensions are granted on a case-by-case basis and usually in the most extreme cases. Maximum extensions are granted for two additional semesters, not including a summer term. Requests can take one to two weeks to process.
Requests made without listing details regarding your situation will not be granted. Extensions will not be granted for a minor, change in major or to complete a graduate degree without additional extenuating circumstances. Financial need is not used to make decisions.
Scholarships are extended for students to complete an undergraduate program from scholarships such as the President’s Scholarship, Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship and Provost Award. Scholarship extensions are not normally granted for named, Foundation Scholarships. Please contact scholarship@mines.edu with questions.
Requirements:
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must be maintaining the terms of the scholarship to continue (2.500 cumulative GPA)
- Requests must be submitted by Census Day of the term the extension is being requested for
Examples:
- Medical or hardship withdrawal
- Death of a parent or immediate family member
