Colorado School of Mines has exchange agreements with many universities in other countries to give students the opportunity to study abroad. Mines Education Abroad assists students in obtaining approval for these programs, and pre-approval for the courses. Where a student pays their tuition can have an impact on their financial aid and scholarship funding.  Please stop by the Financial Aid Office for pertinent details.  Mines Education Abroad also has information on scholarships specifically for study abroad.

COOPERATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Many students participate in Cooperative Education (CO-OP) programs, where the student will work full or part-time for a company during a semester.  The Mines Career Center is available to help you with details.  Most scholarships are automatically held for the students that return to Mines, but ALL students should check with the Financial Aid Office or the appropriate departments (such as Athletics, ROTC, etc.) to make arrangements for their return.

Tip

• Students will automatically be registered in “Co-Op” credit so they officially maintain their student standing at Mines and remain eligible for loan deferments.
